Conversations with other species – solo exhibition by Dinu Bodiciu

June 27 – August 9, 2025, Indecis artist-run, Bastion 3, Timișoara
Opening: Friday, June 27, 6:00 PM

What if garments weren’t just garments? What if, instead of simply covering our bodies, they enter into dialogue with them – and, by extension, with all the non-human species around us?

We’re officially opening the summer season at Indecis with Conversations with other species, a solo exhibition by Dinu Bodiciu, bringing together nearly a decade of artistic research into the relationship between body, clothing, and the ecosystem. A project that moves beyond fashion and raises questions about responsibility, symbiosis, and the possibility of a less aggressive future for all that is not human.

In our time, the fashion industry and the overconsumption of clothing have become some of the world’s major drivers of pollution. From product oversaturation and the devaluation of human labor, to the exploitation of countless non-human species and a growing waste crisis, these are just some of the symptoms of a system in collapse.
Against this backdrop, Dinu Bodiciu proposes a paradigm shift – a repositioning of the designer not as a trend-maker, but as a mediator between species. With both knowledge and practice, the designer can play a central role in slowing down and rethinking the mechanisms of an ethically compromised system.

Working with symbiosis as a framework as both premise and creative stimulus, Dinu Bodiciu has developed a series of projects in which the distinction between body and garment begins to blur, allowing the two entities to merge or shift perspectives, questioning whether non-human activity is truly the problem.

By reconsidering stains, holes, or discoloration not as flaws but as creative stimuli, these projects offer a first step toward rethinking how we live together with other species in a shared global ecosystem.

Join us for the opening and explore this speculative space of design, embodiment, and interspecies connection!
