I warmly greet You! My name is Christine Cizmaș, I was born in Timisoara,  April 22, 1978 and in my  48 years of life spent in this city, I realize that I went through a short period of dictatorship, I participated in a Revolution, I exercised my right to vote, I protested countless times, in short, I transited and am still transiting different forms of government and social life, I loved, I still love, I dance, I destroyed, I built, I learned analogically, then transferred to the digital era, and now I was very close to requesting  AI to do my BIO. Did I do it?  Does it matter …

I am raised and educated in a multi-ethnic spirit and I am a witness to my own insecurities and searches in art, be it underground, independent, unskilled or academic.

I could present myself as an actress in the independent sector and I was for 20 years,  I also had many private initiatives, but sometimes scripts and texts which I have learned word for word,  for some time now, do not give me enough space for artistic exploration, that’s why I look everywhere and especially in people, for an essence. I try not to run away, I like to have a hard time while working, I think my generation was brought up this way, the hard way. My imaginary world is fantastic, I like it there, but I also like it when I manage to bring a piece of it into reality.

Achievements? What qualifies me? Nothing and everything. It’s very subjective. Many roles, too many, a lot of theater, still a lot of dreaming and desire to explore. What is there to do with life, then to search and not to find, not to know and still enjoy the journey and find happiness.

David Bowie, my best friend.

A SEA OF IDEAS is part of the mediation programme accompanying the exhibition TIRED MASS. The programme begins with three forms of labour that almost all of us perform, even if we do not always recognise them as such: physical, intellectual and emotional labour.
