Workshop for kids ✷ 21.09, 11:00-13:00, Indecis artist run, Bastion 3, Timișoara
Pinhole photography is a simple yet fascinating technique based on the concept of the camera obscura. This involves a dark box with a small hole that allows light to enter and project an inverted image of the outside world onto the opposite side – a fundamental principle of photography that uses light traveling in straight lines to create images.
In this workshop, children will be able to build their own pinhole cameras, create a visual story, and later showcase their work.
Participants will start by crafting a collective visual story, each child capturing a unique part of the narrative using their handmade pinhole cameras. They’ll learn how to construct these cameras from simple materials and how to use them to capture stunning images.
Once the photos are taken, we’ll develop them in an improvised darkroom, revealing the magic of this age-old process. Finally, the children’s photos will be displayed in an exhibition, showcasing their creative journey and the stories they’ve captured.
